ABOUT MY WORK
As a seasoned freelance illustrator with over 30 years of experience, I specialize in creating unique and inspirational artwork for a variety of projects including marketing materials, concept art, storyboarding, children’s books, and video editing. While my expertise spans graphic design and motion design, illustration is at the heart of my creative process.
I hold a degree in cinematography from the North Carolina School of the Arts, and my background in animation and film informs my approach to visual storytelling. After teaching Design and Animation for 10 years, I feel I have nearly mastered the art of composition. Recently I've illustrated four children's books, two political satire books, designed art for tabletop games, logos, and marketing materials of all kinds.
I work mostly digitally with Affinity, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, and Toon Boom software which allows me to craft both still and dynamic visuals with a versatile, professional touch. Although my work is deeply rooted in illustration, I am always excited to collaborate on concept art and character design for productions, where my skills in storytelling and visual composition truly shine.
